Arrival in Costa Rica

After 16 hours of traveling, we have arrived in Uvita, Costa Rica. We did not get to our house until after dark and on 2 hours of sleep, so we have not done much exploring yet. Stay tuned.

My fiance and I are in the process of putting together our own trip to Uvita and I stumbled across your blog today! We are leaving the US the first week of May. I am so excited to see your pics. I have to ask you how did you get to be six months without proving your return flight in 90 days? Thanks for any info.

Hi Melissa – We actually are taking a trip to Panama in April because of the 90 day rule. At the ticket counter in the U.S. and when we went through customs in Costa Rica, we had to show proof that we had bus tickets out of the country. The real problem is that you can’t purchase a Tica Bus ticket unless you are in Costa Rica. We used http://www.costaricabustickets.com and they purchased our tickets and emailed them to us with a letter. Print the letter & the tickets and carry them with you.

Hope that helps – let us know if there is anything else we can help with, I know there are a lot of questions when you go into a trip like this.
